Empowering & Mentoring Young People

We are passionate about early intervention and providing a modern approach to counselling for young people, by addressing the wellbeing of your child in a different way.

Positive Outcomes

Meeting the individual needs of young people and their families

Our experience covers a wide range of complex issues that children and young people face, strong connections to other valuable support services for referral opportunities and collaborative wrap-around support.

We work with a variety of ages, from primary school age children to young adults and the extended family – meeting in spaces that are comfortable for them and allowing the young person to influence what their counselling sessions look like.

Our aim is to support young people with an individualised approach, for a range of presenting issues and adopting a mentor style to build rapport.

Personalised Process

Young Minds SA highly recommend an initial session with the parent/s or guardian/s of the young person to develop a thorough understanding of the young person, and any issues or concerns from a parent/guardian point of view, so that a plan for support can be established.

Our consultations and sessions are held at a mutually agreed upon location, such as school, home, community centre or a coffee shop. We are an outreach service and pride ourselves on being flexible to suit your needs.

During your first meeting we will make a plan that will detail a suggested quantity and length of sessions, and a booking schedule. We’ll then arrange the next session, for you to introduce us to your child.

Discreet & Affordable

Fees for individual sessions are charged at $150 per 50 minutes, with a reduced price for those without funding. Depending on location, travel fees may apply. We are able to provide support to NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed.

Cancellations – Young Minds SA kindly ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice to change or cancel a session booking. Please understand that cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will attract a 50% charge of the session fee. Non-attendance will be charged at full fee.
